Service Engineer

The Company

Premier Labellers was founded in 1994 at a small farm in Harwich. Since then we have grown significantly and now reside at our current Bathside Bay site where we manufacture over 120 machines per year, and contract pack millions of product for our customers. We are proud to be one of few remaining true British manufactures of self-adhesive labelling machinery and have a high standard of customer satisfaction.

The Position

We are now looking to add a dedicated full-time Service Engineer to join our continuously growing engineering team. Your role will form a crucial part of our business so you must be willing to take on plenty of responsibility within a small team, and be able to react swiftly and positively to customer requests. You should also be proactive in our continuous improvement efforts and promoting the spares and service department to increase annual revenue. This position is very physical and requires significant time travelling away from home to various locations in the UK, and the occasional trip to overseas customers. You will be based in the North of the UK shown on the below map:

Main Duties

​

  • Attend service and breakdown visits across the UK.

  • Attend occasional service and breakdown visits across the rest of the world.

  • Identify and supply replacement parts to customers in a time-critical manner.

  • Rectify electrical and Siemens software issues.

  • Complete service sheets electronically on an iPad and submit to the Spares & Service coordinator in a timely manner.

  • Visiting key customers regularly to maintain customer satisfaction on days without a pre-booked visit.

  • Deliver an extremely high standard of customer support.

  • Prioritise the technical concerns and issues of customers from many locations.

  • Attend trade shows where necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

​

  • Experience in servicing, troubleshooting, and setting up labelling machines.

  • A positive and outgoing attitude, even when dealing with difficult situations.

  • Willing to travel extensively and be away from home regularly.

  • Comfortable working with Siemens software.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Professional and well-presented.

  • Be willing to work additional hours to complete projects.

The Location and Working Hours

​

This position is a full-time role Monday – Friday but start/finish times are dependent entirely on customer requirements which may include very early starts or late finishes.

​

You will be located at home but will be expected to travel extensively within the UK and carry out some overseas work.

​

Expected Salary

​

£ 45,000 per annum

Overtime payable at the standard hourly rate over contracted hours

​
